Today's "Top of the Blog" Comment

We left Rocky Mountain National Park for home today shortly before Noon after getting a phone call that Ellen Foyle passed away this (Saturday) morning.
We were just ready to start a 5 day camping stay inside the park but in no way could we enjoy that special event knowing we would not be there for Ellen and her family.
Within 90 minutes of getting the phone call we were on the road heading home.
We drove 400 of the 1200 miles to get home today and will be home on Monday.
This is probably the end of the blog.

From within we can only say that Ellen Foyle holds a very special place in our hearts and she will be deeply missed.
Love, Ellen & Jim

Sunday - Elkhart to Mirror Lake

It's Monday morning and a cold 40 degrees outside.  It's still August, but who would know it!

For the most part, an uneventful trip of 300 miles on Sunday.

Mike and Cindy had some issues with the overhang on their RV preventing the IZoom transponder from registering at toll booths.  I'll let Cindy embellish the experience when she gets online.  She can also tell you about her sore head.

This is a clean State Park and we are comfortable here.  Came through some rain early in the day, but it soon cleared and the rest of the drive was clear and dry.  Set up the RV's, took the dogs on a one hour walk, returned for a campfire and burgers on the grill with roasted corn on the cobb.

That's about it.  Not sure at this time, 7:15am, if we are moving on or staying another day.

More later, and I'll put a few pictures on as well.  Got to take the dogs out.

  1. I have hit my head so many times with the overhead I may have a concussion. Also may I just say the I-Zoom was a issue but the laday at the toll booth I tryed to have help us just kept saying Get a Ticket, Get a Ticket. But we finally got it after I stood in the toll lane held it up figured out where we needed to put it. All is good again we are off.
